Incorporation, explained

What an offshore company actually does for you.

The company is the easy part. The structure around it, and the banking behind it, are what separate a working setup from an expensive mistake.

The company is the tool, not the strategy

A jurisdiction is picked for a job: a trading company wants treaties and payment rails, a holding company wants stability and no capital gains tax, an asset-holding entity wants creditor protection. Nevis and Cook Islands excel at the last one, especially paired with proper asset protection structures. Pick the job first, then the flag.

Where you incorporate is not where you pay tax

A 0% company owned by a resident of a high-tax country is usually still taxable at home under CFC and management-and-control rules. The setups that genuinely reach zero pair the right company with the right personal tax residency. We structure both sides together, which is why the tax outcome actually holds.

Banking is the real bottleneck

Forming the company takes days. Opening the account is where most DIY setups die. We work with 38 banking partners and match the jurisdiction to banks that will actually onboard your profile. For non-US founders, a US LLC remains one of the cleanest routes to solid banking.

Questions

Offshore companies, answered.

The questions every founder asks in the first call, answered straight.

What is an offshore company?

An offshore company is simply a company formed outside the country where you live. Used properly it holds assets, runs international business, separates liability, and banks in stable jurisdictions. There is nothing exotic about it: the same structures are used by funds, listed companies, and family offices every day.

Is an offshore company legal?

Completely, in every jurisdiction on this page. What the law requires is honest reporting at home: most countries make you declare foreign companies you own, and banks report under CRS or FATCA automatically. Legal setups are built assuming full transparency with your tax authority, which is exactly how we build them.

How much does it cost to incorporate offshore?

Starter formations like a US LLC or Belize company begin under US$2,000 all-in, the classic offshore centres (Panama, Nevis, Seychelles) typically land between US$1,300 and US$3,000, and onshore European or Gulf structures run higher. The From figure on each card includes government filing fees, with annual renewals quoted upfront.

How long does formation take?

The fastest jurisdictions complete in three to five business days; most take one to four weeks including document legalisation. Banking adds time on top, and is usually the slower half of the project. Nothing on this page requires you to travel: formation and KYC are handled remotely through a secure portal.

Do I need to visit the country?

No. Every jurisdiction we work with allows fully remote formation: identity checks, document signing, and filings all happen online or by courier. A small number of banks want an in-person meeting for certain profiles, and where that applies we tell you before you commit to anything.

Which jurisdiction is best for my business?

It depends on the job. Selling to EU customers points one way, holding investments another, protecting assets from lawsuits a third. Nationality matters too: US persons and EU residents each trigger different reporting. That matching exercise is precisely what a thirty-minute strategy call resolves.

Can I get a bank account for my offshore company?

Yes, and this is where jurisdiction choice matters most. Banks onboard based on the company’s flag, your residency, and your business profile. We maintain 38 banking partners and match you before forming anything, so the entity you create is one a real bank will actually accept.

Will my offshore company pay zero tax?

The company itself often does. Whether you do depends on where you are tax resident: most high-tax countries attribute a foreign company’s profits to its owner under CFC rules. Genuine zero setups pair the company with a territorial or zero-tax personal residency. US citizens face special rules (GILTI among them) wherever they live.

Is an offshore company private?

Privacy from the public, yes: many jurisdictions keep owners off the public record, and nominee services add another layer. Privacy from governments, no: beneficial-ownership registers and automatic bank reporting mean your tax authority can know. Built correctly, that distinction is the point: discreet to the world, clean with the state.

What are the ongoing costs?

Every company has annual charges: government renewal, registered agent, and any nominee or accounting services. These vary by jurisdiction and are quoted with the formation, so the first-year figure you approve already shows what year two will cost. No surprise invoices; that reputation is worth more to us than the fee.
